Condition: Excellent condition. Full pile. The cotton warps in this rug are unusual. This design is a later version of rugs like 1090 (Plate 25 in Pictorial War Rug Book) Plate 25 is from the early 1980s while this rugs is from the mid to late 1990s. Canada's Textile Museum in Canada exhibited an early example of this design which is also interesting because of its unusually large size.
This is a super bright and vibrant rug with reds, oranges, and blues forming most of the colors.
Wool: Very good, unusually soft.
Sheen: Satin sheen on each tuft
Handle: Floppy
Selvedge: One thick cord wool overcast.
Fringe: Half inch cotton plain weave, overhand knots, cotton fringe. Cotton fringe on this type of rug is most unusual.
Pile: 5mm
Warp: White cotton.
Weft: Two cord dark grey cotton
Warp Depression: Minimal warp depression
