The condition of this new war rug is perfect. This is an excellent example of folk art at its best. Using a traditional art form to express contemporary thoughts, shocking imagery that is relevant to the times in which it was made, and the flaws and blemishes that truly separate the folk artist from the more refined perfection of institutionalized technique. There is some bleeding of dark shades which is very common in these types of rugs. |
