This is a new map war rug with only some minor bleeding around the color black. The U.S. and British flags are interesting in and of themselves with the contemporary war rugs, but this rug is, simply put, fascinating. It is the rare depiction of caves that makes this one so and is a true account of Afghanistan's strength in the war. Take note of the nicely placed touch of purple cotton pile at the uppermost cave.
Wool: The wool is fine and soft. Sheen: The sheen has a nice luster to it and will only improve with time. Handle: The handle on this war rug has particularly firm springs. Selvedge: The selvedge is of 3 cord black wool.
Fringe: This war rug has 1/4 cotton kilim with some black bleeding. There is Persian closure with short fringe. Pile: Wool pile with a very tiny, lovely accent of cotton; as noted in the condition description.Warp: White cotton.Weft: Black cotton.
Warp Depression:Full depression
