This rug is in perfect condition. The pile is evenly trimmed, and the rug lays flat. The border is even and the guard stripes are very nice. The pattern is particularly attractive. The variation of colors used in medallions is a nice touch. . There is a nice variety of densely placed field motifs. A light turquoise is used as an beautiful accent to the rest of the colors. This is an attractive rug as well as being well knotted. Rug is slightly wider on bottom than top.
Wool: The wool is smooth and fatty. It has good lanolin content. Pile is short and even. On scale of one to 10 this is an 8.5 Sheen: Very good for a new rug. Handle: Handle is floppy, resilient and sturdy. Selvedge: Selvedge is one notch below the very best. It is a tight braided goat hair overcast.
Fringe: Fringe has a 1.25 inch plain weave kilim. Each end has two red and blue braided sumac stripes. Fringe is closed with overhand knots. Pile: Wool is very good quality and 4mm deep.Warp: Natural wool, 2S1ZWeft: 2 shoot charcoal colored cotton.
