Marling: two threads of different colors plied together

Towards the top right of this photo is a checkerboard of marled red/blue knots surrounded by camel. Inside the box, the top right marled knot (two nodes, see warp depression) has blue on top and red below, the next marled thread to the right, inside its own box, shows the blue thread running diagonally.

This pile is from the inside of a bag, so it has not been used on the floor where the floor polishes off the "fuzz". The bag looks new despite being almost 40 years old (December 2022).
