Condition: The condition of this new Afghan war rug is perfect. This is an excellent design since the 9/11 war rugs with the banner of peace across the middle are more common, those without the banner, such as this one, is much more sought after and thereby valuable. The rareness of these is remarkable, and warrug.com is privileged to offer such a fine example. Our company will flip through piles of war rugs and pull out only the best quality available to offer to our customers.
This war rug is drawn quite well by the weaver. Though the flames and people falling are quite graphic, it is true to the day. There is an outline of Afghanistan in the background and this seems to represent the immediate hunt for Al Qaeda with the missile launching and the aircraft carrier lined with jets. It is interesting to note that the Afghan refugee woman who weaved this rug appears to connect the two events with great alacrity. The use of military colors throughout this war rug is a clever touch.
There is some minor bleeding of dark into light colors which is common in these types of new war rugs.
