Condition: This is an older war rug in excellent condition. This rug has a beautiful sheen on the wool. The use of very nice colors in addition to the border's natural wool can be seen in various colors throughout. This war rug is wonderfully drawn and the weaver was quite the artisan. There is also the wonderful illegible text on this war rug that is seen consistently in older soviet-era war rugs.
Wool: The wool is excellent. It contains 3 colors of undyed wool. There is wonderful softening of the colors and a nice abrash in the natural wool border.
Sheen: The sheen is superb.
Handle: The handle of this war rug is nicely floppy.
Selvedge: The selvedge consists of single cord braided goat hair. There is minor 1 inch damage in a couple sections which is common in some older Tribal war rugs.
Fringe: The unusually straight fringe on this war rug also boasts a 1 inch natural wool kilim with 2 strand floated weft in a braided closure.
Pile: 4mm wool.
Warp: Very nice natural wool.
Weft: Grey, black, and tan wool.
