Condition: Condition is excellent, as one would expect form a new rug. The landscape drawing is strong in this rug. The 13th Century Ghurid minaret is beautifully depicted. The middle ground is red and tan marled wool. Signed “Tareeq 2008”
Wool: The wool in this landscape rug is very good. The wool is soft and fine. There are two distinct areas of undyed tan wool .
Sheen: Good, better on the undyed colors than on blue
Handle: Floppy
Selvedge: Unusual for Baluchi, specific to a small group of rugs. This rug has one thick cord overcast in blue wool.
Fringe: Short grey plain weave kilim, reduced, Persian closure, short fringe.
Pile: 4mm
Warp: Grey wool
Weft: Two cords grey wool
Warp Depression: Minimal warp depression, left hand node slightly smaller, from being pushed down, than right node.
