This intricate colorful blue rug features imagery representative of Persian mathematician, astronomer and philosopher, Omar Khayyam's 'carefree' poetry.
Men drink wine (a big taboo in Islamic culture) while women play instruments. Intricate patterns of flowers and branches and vines intertwine with birds, deer, and other small animals. Four cars with various occupants (most notably, the very alert passengers in the top left corner) are present in each corner.
The complex border is comprised of several intricate flower and geometric patterns. Two large 'main' borders are bordered by smaller layers of pattern.
Some color bleeding is present on the woman in the top left corner of the main field. |
