We received these drone rugs directly from the weavers, so they are in new and perfect condition. The colors are contemporary vegetal dyes. The materials and craftsmanship of these rugs is first rate. The wool is best quality, and the knotting is excellent. Kevin Sudeith has dubbed these rugs "Late Peshawar" because, as the Afghan refugees are forced from Pakistan by the Pakistan military, he expects this "Vegetable Dye Peshawar" type of carpet to stop being produced. |

Wool: Best quality hand spun wool. The wool comes from Ghazni Afghanistan and, supposedly, Saudi Arabia. | Sheen: Excellent, but is also washed with shiny conditioner | Handle: Very firm and stiff because of dense knotting and the depressed warps/double knotting. | Selvedge: Blond overcast warps. Blond wool protects cotton wefts. | Fringe: Short cotton fringe | Pile: Hand spun wool | Warp: White cotton | Weft: White cotton | Warp Depression:Full warp depression, a.k.a. "double knotted", so called because half the knots are invisible from the back.
2015 (Received from weavers in December 2015) The larger rugs in this shipment were dated "1393" which is 2015 in the European calendar. |
