Here at Warrug we desire to shed light on those making art about war in the Middle East, especially when that art is in the form of ceramics as those are our two special interests.

Today we are highlighting two fabulous ceramic artists.

First Christa Assad . She is a teacher, traveler, and ceramicist who is interested in signs of archaeologicaal artifacts and the study of human behavior. Her grenade ceramics specifically caught my eye and deserve attention. I’ve attached an image below of her grenade teapot, linked to her wonderful stock.

Ian Shelly is another talented teacher and ceramicist who has a continued interest in weapon making.

His Rocket Parts caught my eye as a technically challenging ceramic form to explore. Much of his work is overwhelmingly striking.
